The moderators of these boards have told us MANY times that betting doesn't influence outcome of races. I am here to tell you don't friggin believe it!! It is some ridiculous crap that happens in betting. Let me explain. I just did test to see if there was any link between horses that I bet on and where they came in races and here is how I did and the results:
I took 20 races in a row selected 1 horse each race ( some were hooves horses and some were mine). The first 20 races I bet the an even amount( $1000) to win place and show for total bet on race of $3000. In those 20 races, the horse I selected won 2, placed 1 and showed 3 times. That comes out to rate of 30% in the money. I have heard that the win rate should be around 30% by itself,so that isn't a great in the money rate! Here where it gets interesting though. For the next 20 races I again bet one horse only this time I bet them to win and place-leaving out show. in these 20 races the horse I bet won 1,placed 3 and showed an incredible 8 times. So when I bet win/place/show I was in money total of 6 out 20, but when I bet win/place my horse was in money 12 times but 8 of those he was in the one spot I didn't bet! When I bet 20 races win/show(leaving out place) and show/place( leaving out win, I got the same kind of results! So if betting doesn't affect the outcome why is that when I bet win/place /show, my horse doesn't get in the money that much at all, but if I leave one of the win/place/show out, my horse consistently come in the one spot I didn't bet? Seems a little fishy to me!!
